A coalition of Wisconsin groups are hosting a rally at the Milwaukee debate on February 11 to show the Democratic candidates opposition to tar sands projects and to encourage them to verbally oppose the Alberta Clipper pipeline and similar tar sands expansion projects. It is scheduled to start at 6:00 and will be followed by a watch party (with pizza) hosted by the UW-Milwaukee College Democrats. RSVP here and check out the Facebook event page.
The following day (Feb 12) in Milwaukee there will be a "Spring Forward" state strategy summit for youth activists. The goals are to: make connections and build relationships; create a shared understanding of local political landscapes with regards to the climate crisis and other progressive battles being fought in the state; form or strengthen organized statewide networks to move the work forward; develop strategies to shift the balances of power within their states in 2016 and beyond. More information on "Spring Forward" can be found here.
